Amazing food and the wait time is no time
One of the best kept secrets of Port Townsend. If you are a "hole in the wall" burger and fish lover, then you will love this place. It fills up quickly and is family dining style, where you sit next to strangers, and you bus your own tables and refill your drinks. But for the price, and the quantities you cant miss it.
MoreVery good home cooked food with small town cafe atmosphere. Had the biscuits and gravy and no complaints here. Would definitely be back next time I'm in Port Townsend.
MoreOhh, my! I loved this place! The food is just plain good deep fried fish and chips PLUS milkshakes!!!! Some great historical/vintage signs and stuff on the walls. Lots of regulars coming and going. You know it's good when you see that!** Please LIKE my review, if it helps you!
MoreSmall place, staff were pretty busy, so maybe a bit rushed and curt, but the fish and chips were super good. Will definitely go here again!
MoreReally good fish n chips! Some of the best we’ve had. Right next to the water too, check this place out if you want some great tasting seafood.
MoreGreat little hole in the wall right by the marina! We love their burgers and excellent halibut and chips. The staff is super friendly as long you aren't lookng down your nose at anything or one.Very nice tartar sauce too!
MoreGood food, not so good cleanliness
Really good fish and chips. A delight for our road trip. Thanks!
Very good service & and excellent view.
Honestly I never complain but it shouldn't take 30min for two milkshakes when there are three people inside already waiting on food that's been ordered. The food is good but the wait for your food is not worth it.
MoreExcellent food. The cod was justvwhat I wanted. Highly recommend this place.
Waited so long...Friday night, took the family out for milkshakes. Arrived at Sea J's at 5:02 ordered immediately. Then paid. Proceeded to wait until 5:23 for two milkshakes. There was no one ahead of us. The employees (2) were laughing and joking in the back with someone who stopped by to say hello. Finally went up to the counter and asked how much longer and the woman asked if I had paid yet. It had been so long she's couldn't remember. First and last time I will ever go to Sea J's.
MoreAwesome food, great customer service. Very authentic coastal Cafe.
Came in about 15 min before they closed, ordered chowder and side salad, the potatoes in the chowder were still crunchy, also ordered crab cakes and they were cold. Based on the reviews I was expecting much better food. Very disappointing.
MoreBest handmade milkshake! Appreciate being able to get food during Covid. Friendly staff, fresh fish, and good price.
MoreGuaranteed the best "Fish & Chips" ever. It's a small hole in the wall place and very friendly. Next time I'm in town I'm there!!! REALLY WORTH CHECKING OUT!!
MoreI asked a watermelon milkshake, and They gave me a big vainilla ice cream pink. I love the hamburgers but It almost killed my boyfriend. They don't the tables, that's really nasty. Sometimes you don't have space to seat. It's not cheap
MoreLocals told me about this place and so glad they did! A simple local restaurant, family style seating. I need to try other items on menu but am so impressed I've only had the fish/chips basket. 4 piece cod basket easily feeds two. Honestly the best I've had on the OR or WA coast on a massive roadtrip this year. Lightly battered and not greasy. We didn't have the shakes but the locals seemed to love them, so thats on my list next time. Very friendly staff and outdoor seating on warmer day. Take a walk amongst the docks or beach after your meal. Clean and cozy.. I will return!
MoreI haven't been to Port Townsend in a couple of years but every time I come, Sea J's is my first stop. It's always been the best fish and chips I've ever had. However, I'm completely disappointed in my experience today. The fish was soggy. It looked under cooked and the batter was mush. I tried to eat it but the flavor was just not the same and not impressive at all. I'm not sure what happened here but I'm sad that this won't be my first stop in Port Townsend anymore. 😔
MoreTrue hole in the wall. Don’t expect much by way of service. I find that the fastest way to order is to go up to the service area. Menu is straightforward. It’s true, they have the best fish and chips. Order the milkshake at your own risk - if you try and drink it with a straw, you might just suck your brain out (it’s that thick).
MoreSmall place. Great food. The crab sandwich and clam chowder were fabulous. The fish taco was huge. Would have liked a little more fish but it was good.
MoreWe just ate dinner here today. The reviews were great but I have no idea why. Our food was much later than they said it would be, so our kids were starving. No employees were wearing masks despite the state mandate. The men’s bathroom didn’t have soap. The fish taco was basically a fried quesadilla with fish and horrible and greasy - more cheese than fish. The BLT was drenched in mayo. The kids were happy with their chicken fingers and fries so I guess there’s that. If we hadn’t had starving kids and no immediately close by open options we would have turned around. I highly regret our meal and I’m appalled that at the very least staff should have masks and sanitizer should be available and SOAP in the bathrooms!!
MoreThe two working in the morning don’t seem to be quite cut out for working there and pretty unprofessional. Used to love Sea J’s but pretty disappointed this time. Employees walk back and to the car with their friends outside. Hopefully it gets better soon.
MoreReally good fish and chips. The chowder is awesome!
Great costumer service and the best fish&chips I've had in awhile
Excellent Fish and Chips ! Beer battered and the chips were crisp. Fresh Cod.Chowder was more like Stew and awesome too. 😋
MoreFood was excellent. Good family-run, family-style, local, small (can seat 15) restaurant.
MoreMy family and I have been coming to See J's for 15 years. The food is solidly cafe food and unpretentious. Their price point has been decidedly modest. We always leave with our bellies full and our wallets........? not empty. We have loved Jeany (spelling?) and the crew and the "homey" feeling of the place. But alas, on Friday we went to our happy place and were confronted with Port Townsend prices on every item on the menu. $9 cheese burgers, $10 for one piece of fried cod, etc! Wow! Couldn't believe my eyes. And so we sadly bade farewell to our happy place.😭
MoreThe cod was good, good breading. Fries are ok, toss the toast, though. And do not believe pricing if you scroll down to pics of the menu...I got a three piece cod for $17.15..the price on the menu pic said $11.25 (+tax). These pics do not get updated often, but this was ridiculous.
MoreGreat food! Crowd was a little sketchy.
This place is exactly what I would hope to find in a small town, fisherman community. The food was affordable, tasty and the portions are huge! The place was full of regulars, all of whom were funny and nice. I will make sure that every time I'm back in Port Townsend, I stop in here for the food AND the experience.
MoreDon't let the outside appearance fool you. Really good fish n chips and burgers. The ultimate burger is immense. Expect to wait for your food to be prepared.
MoreGet a Two Piece. You will thank yourself!!
Great view on the outside back porch! Fast, friendly and fresh!!
Great tasting food. small hole in the wall spot on the water. Two friendly women working there that enjoy some good rock music and seem to have a solid loyal customer base. the fish and chips (cod) was fantastic and was some of the better fish and chips I've had in a while
MoreThe quality of the food has gone down hill. First time there in about a year and a half definitely not the same food dont know what happened.
MoreHalibut fish and chips was delicious! Atmosphere, only so so.
stopped for fish n chips fish just ok fries were cold probably 3 hours old nasty
So freaking good!!!!! Stopped there today for lunch. Had the crab burger. My husband had halibut and chips. Everything was good! Service outstanding despite how busy they were! Thanks Sea J's we will definitely be back! Much love from Spokane!
MoreThey forgot I was there, though we interacted many times during the 1 hour wait for my food. Not an exaggeration, workers were clearly high and could be seen disappearing into outside bathrooms with people who approached on the stand periodically with visible track marks on their arms. When they remembered my presence, they offered a free soft drink as an olive branch.
MoreFriendly employees, delicious food, and good prices. I got the oyster burger, and my significant other had the fish and chips; both were superb. My favorite is their french fries though! The perfect balance of crunch with a soft inside. From now on, we will make this a regular stop anytime we're in Port Townsend.
MoreFood was good. Service was a bit unfriendly, but we will come back and give it another try. Crab burger was delicious.
MoreWhat a great little hidden gem. The food is classic dinner dive food. I had to wait for a long time to get in an order in though, but once I was acknowledged the staff was pleasant.
MoreHole in the wall with yummy burger type food. Not the cleanest place u will find but has been around for a reason!
MoreBreakfast is perfect, anything out of the fryer is magnificent! Favorite place on the peninsula hands down! Authentic friendly staff, no pretension, fluff or BS here. Great food, terrific prices, best fish and chips in the PNW!
MoreGot cod fish and chips and clam strips. Was good. HOWEVER.... NO SOAP IN THE BATHROOM. And no hand sanitizer anywhere! Hope I don’t get sick.
MoreSomeone told us that this is the best place for fish and chips. They were right. Small and friendly. Order the fisherman platter and share.
MoreGreat, would be 5 stars but they didn't have any bbq or ranch and all of the flavors for milkshakes were pretty much out so that was a bummer
